Catherine Ford is a British actress who was born in Bloomsbury. When her father left her family members, she was grew to maturity by her mother, godparents, and grandmother. As a child Ford experienced anxiety related to an obsessional-compulsive condition. Ford was interested in the acting profession during her teen years, and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. Ford was accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School. But after just a few days, she realized that the school was not for her. Ford applied again to Central School of Speech and Drama and on her fourth attempt she was eventually accepted. Shaun Dingwall would play Pete Tyler who is a character that was recurring for Doctor Who. Ford's first appearance on television was a 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the time she graduated, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate began her TV debut in the year 1991, appearing on television shows like The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. and London's Burning. She worked on stage regularly, and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company's season 2000-2001. Tate was first noticed because of her stand-up comedic performances in the year 1996.
