Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father's departure from her family, she was brought up by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. While a small child, Ford battled anxious disorders, obsessive/compulsive and was afflicted by the word association. Ford was interested in the field of acting during her teenage years and she became a member of the National Youth Theatre. The school she was accepted to was Sylvia Young Theatre School. However, after a short period of weeks, she realized the school was not suitable for her. Ford, instead of applying for admission to Central School of Speech and Drama and getting a spot at the third time made an application and secured a place at Central School of Speech and Drama. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler on Doctor Who. Ford received her degree in 1993. However, prior to that, Ford made a television debut when she appeared on Surgical Spirit in an episode that aired in 1991. Ford took the professional name of Catherine Tate. Tate first appeared on television in 1991, appearing on television shows like The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. and London's Burning. Tate also regularly worked as a theatre actor and was eventually a part of the Royal Shakespeare Company during its season of 2000-2001. Tate's stand-up comedy style that she started adding to her show in 1996, quickly gained the attention of her peers.
