Catherine Ford is a British actress born in Bloomsbury. When her father's departure from her family members, she was brought up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. While a small girl, Ford was battling obsessive/compulsive disorders and anxiety caused by the word association. Ford's love for acting grew as a child. She was a part of at the National Youth Theatre. The school she was accepted to was Sylvia Young Theatre School. After a couple of days, she realized that the school was not for her. Ford instead applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama, finally winning a place on her fourth attempt. One of her classmates included Shaun Dingwall, who would later have a recurring role as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford's television debut was in an episode in 1991 called Surgical Spirit. By the moment she was done with school, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate was on television in the Nineties with shows such as The Bill and Men Behaving Badly. Tate was a regular performer on stage, and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company's season 2000-2001. Tate gained recognition as a stand-up comedian and became part of her portfolio in the year 1996.
