Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father left her family, she was grew up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. While a small child, Ford battled obsessive/compulsive disorders and anxiety caused through word-related associations. Ford began performing in her teens and became an actor in the National Youth Theatre. After being admitted to Sylvia Young Theatre School for a short time but Ford realized it wasn't the ideal venue for her. Ford instead applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama which she was eventually able to get an acceptance on her fourth attempt. Shaun Dingwall - who later played Pete Tyler in Doctor Who was among her fellow students. Ford graduated in 1993. However, she made her television debut in a 1992 episode of Surgical Spirit. She adopted the stage name Catherine Tate. Tate made her television debut in the year 1991, appearing on shows like The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. and London's Burning. Tate's regular involvement in the theatre led her to join the Royal Shakespeare Company, for the 2000-2001 Season. But Tate was soon gaining recognition for her stand-up comedic performances and added stand-up comedy to her resume in the year 1996.
