Awkwafina An American singer and actress began with a series of rap songs which dealt with the subject of sexuality and race. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood following the release of several rap songs. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. Following a focus on education, she graduated with an education in journalism at the college as well as a women's studies degree. Not until after graduation did she begin to concentrate on music. Her My Vag song, My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a huge hit across the Internet and eventually appeared on her first LP Yellow Ranger. It also included other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. The latter track connected directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in the year 2015. As a musician and an author on her resume she set her sights on an actor for a third venture. Aside from early TV programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in the year 2018, with several movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
